EL PASO, TEXAS – For the first time in school history, Jesus Chapel School was named the state 1A overall academics and speech champion by the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS). Chapel placed first out of 13 schools in the 1A classification of the 2021 TAPPS overall competition, second place in academics, and third place in speech.
“This is so exciting for Jesus Chapel,” Principal Alba Wilcox said. “For the first time ever, our school attained the highest academic rank in our division in the state. We had to do it all online this year and it was not an easy task. But, our student leaders met the challenge to achieve the remarkable result.”
Eight high school seniors will graduate at a ceremony Thursday, May 20, 7:00 p.m. at the school on 10200 Album Ave.
Jesus Chapel is also awaiting the TAPPS fine arts competition results. The school academics and speech results are below:
